A Better Response to Domestic Abuse - Multi Agency Training
Blackpool Safeguarding Partnerships welcomes you to our 1 day Multi-agency training session. Please be aware that it is a requirement to have completed a basic awareness training session to attend. Please see below a link for the Multi agency E-Learning to complete this, alternatively you may have completed this within your service.
Multi Agency E-Learning
Aims & Objectives:
- Join us for an impactful training session to learn more about domestic abuse and how to better support those affected. Engage with multi-agency professionals from across the adult, children and community workforce to share experiences and learning . Let's work together towards creating a safer community for our families.
- By the end of the session, participants will:
- Confidently define domestic abuse and be able to recognise signs and impact earlier and respond to better support all victims of abuse
- Understand Coercive Control and dynamics when adults have additional support and safety needs.
- Identify different types of domestic abuse and the risks of harm associated with each type.
- Understand the DASH RIC and other assessment tools to assess the risk of harm
- Recognise when harmful behaviour poses a risk of imminent significant harm or homicide.
- Identify primary perpetrator and appropriate disruption tactics.
- Understand the immediate and long term impact on victims and associated children.
- Recognise and understand Trauma and the impact on victims of domestic abuse, children impacted by domestic abuse and vulnerable adults impacted by it.
- Understand Best Practice Safety and Support Planning to ensure safety of those at harm is enhanced and risk is reduced.
- Understand the importance of a multi-agency approach, and the remits of partner agencies to promote collaborative working.
- Recognise the impact on professionals to ensure you are looking after yourself and colleagues.
Please note lunch will not be provided on the day, refreshments will be provided throughout the day.
All sessions are face to face and will be 9.30am - 4.30pm.
